Points can be scored for degrees or diplomas and the number of years you spent in full-time or full-time equivalent study.
To earn points in a category, you must meet all the conditions
Full-time studies — At least 15 hours of instruction per week during the academic year, including any period of training in the workplace that is part of your studies.
Full-time equivalent studies — The length of time that it would have taken to complete a program of study on a full-time basis, but was actually completed on a part-time or accelerated basis.

:::Language Skills
There are two official languages i.e. English or Franch for Canada Immigration under this category. You can choose any of the language i.e. English or French as first language for your application. If you choose English as First official language you would be eligible to get up to 16 points under this category and for second language i.e. Franch you would be eligible to get up to 8 points under this category.
It is now mandatory to include your language ability test result in order to proceed with your application failing which your application would not be accepted by the Central Processing Unit.
You are required to take up General Module of IELTS under this category and your test result as per the latest guidelines should not be older than 2 years.

You are required to have minimum one year full time continuous paid experience in last 10 years. If you do not score minimum 15 points under this criteria your application will not be successful under this category.
Work experience must be acquired in an eligible occupation and it should not be under any of the restricted occupations. At present there is restricted occupations listed under this category.

Points are awarded on the Adaptability Factor on the basis of factors which are expected to improve an applicant's ability to become economically established in Canada as follows.
There are five categories under which you can claim points under this category. However you can score more than 10 points even though your circumstances get you more points.

:::Proof of Funds
No financial support is provided to new skilled worker migrants so enough money should be shown to support self and dependents. It is therefore mandatory to show the availability of fund as per the requirement except under circumstances mentioned below.
If you have offer of an employment from Canadian employer duly revalidated by HRSDC showing fund is optional for you.
Following conditions should be fulfilled while showing fund.
- Money cannot be borrowed .
- Money should be usable to support cost of living.
- Proof of funds should be submitted to Canadian Visa Office at the time of initial application.
- Fund in direct proportion to size of the family.
- Requirement of fund is s updated every year.
- If more than CAN$10,000 is carried ,officials should be reported or offence considered. cash, securities, cheques, demand drafts etc.)
